12 Hours in Shingletown!

I went with my mom to an all day sew-in at Black Butte School.  And since I don't sew, I took the opportunity to do some sketching.
He is not impressed.

Perspective

Last night, I was curious if I could render what images look like through my right eye.  After several attempts, the answer is "apparently not."  But this is a close approximation.  The difference is that when focus is on different parts of the Space Needle, the details in that area are sharper.  But overall, it seems like most of the light is diffused, and the colour is washed out.  Blues stand out the most, and yellows.  Reds and greens are the worst and tend to become a blurry grey.

For this image, I focused on the top/restaurant part.

WIP 2

Still chugging away!  I can only draw for so long before my hand threatens to fall off.

Work in Progress

More Autumn-themed doodles!  I'm slowly but surely getting the hang of what Photoshop has to offer (now that it's acknowledging the pressure sensitivity of the tablet.)
Reference photo: the home of one of my favourite authors (and he took the picture, not me).

Processing! PROCESSING!

I'm typing this from the Mac, because this is now the end of day 3 of what started out as a simple backing-up of the Sony.  The ExHD was swamped with duplicate images and music, and old/obsolete program files that silently ate up digital space.  And to further complicate things, each time I thought I'd had the problem licked, I'd go to run the back-up, only to find that no! 20 GB was still not enough space!  So I've spent the last two days wading through many, MANY folders trying to clean up junk files (86'd about 10GB's worth so far).  But it's slow going because there's just SO MUCH STUFF, and the Sony is running a bit slow.  And it needs a good cleaning.  Which is why I wanted to run a back-up.  *sigh*
Long story short, no doodles for the past few days.  Oh, there are a few floating around (i.e. in my *gasp* actual sketchbook) but I haven't had the umph needed of the computer to get them properly scanned and uploaded.  Until next time, dear reader(s)!

Drop it like it's 1925.

A brainstorm sketch for a costume party later this month.  Thoroughly modern!

Trying a quick study of "trees."  Or as close to trees as I can get them to look without actually having to draw each individual leaf.  Soon, I will have a better program, and can use more than just the watercolour brush (i.e. I will most likely just use the scratchboard tool that I so loved from an earlier edition of Corel).
